Moving
from one house to another is a very tedious process. From packing
one's belongings to contacting moving contractors, there is usually
much to be done before the move itself. Preparation is very valuable
since moving deals with all of one's personal possessions. Moving
companies are always hired weeks before the move.
Both
clients and movers must deal with contracts. The first paperwork that
should be present is the “Your
Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" document.
This is a set of guidelines printed by the government and handed to
moving companies. This is the certification that states that a mover
is legitimate, and also works as a manual for clients.
The
estimate of costs
is a document that should also be settled. The agreement between the
two parties in terms of cost must be reached before the move. Though
it doesn't have to be paid yet, it should serve as a contract with
both sides knowing the costs. Other documents include the initial
agreement between
the client and the mover; detailed
contact information
on the part of the mover for future references or problems; the bill
of lading;
as well as the post-moving
contract
and receipt.
Paperwork is very
important to facilitate the moving process. By perusing the right
documents and paperwork, clients will be able to determine the
credibility of movers.
